Temporary handicapped parking permits are available from the Records Department at the Wildwood Crest Police Department. The permits are valid for a 6 month period and may be renewed for an additional 6 month period with the submission of the appropriate documentation. Temporary handicapped parking permits are intended for non-permanent, termporary injuries and disabilities. They are not for temporary periods of time. For example, a temporary handicapped parking permit will not be issued to be used until the permanent one arrives.
Applications for a temporary permit are available from the Records Department (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). The completed application needs to be filled out in part by a medical doctor and a check or money order for $4.00 (made out to New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission). When the permit expires, it can be renewed for an additional 6 months (for no cost).
Permanent handicapped parking placards and plates are issued by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. These placards do not expire and there is no cost. |
