Every October, people all over the world show their support for everyone affected by breast cancer.  The Wildwood Crest Police Department is proud to join that campaign.   During the month of October, our officers and staff will be wearing pink accents to help raise awareness and garner support in the fight against this disease.  Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women. Mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat and before it is big enough to feel or cause symptoms.  Breast cancer death rates have declined by 40% since 1989, primarily attributed to early detection, however, our work is not done. The mission to share the urgent message of early detection is ongoing. 

But for those who are battling cancer, or those who have a loved one battling cancer, there are those who stand ready to help and support you.  Starting with three patients their first year, the Love of Linda Foundation has assisted more than 2500 Cape May County cancer patients since the inception of their organization in 1994. And, they have disbursed over 1.6 million dollars throughout Cape May County to help cancer patients with their ancillary expenses. Whether it's a need for gas, tolls, childcare, or a mortgage payment . . . the list of expenses is never ending, but the Love of Linda Foundation's commitment to helping those in need  is just as enduring.  The Wildwood Crest Police Department is proud to support their organization and help bring awareness and support to all those affected by breast cancer.
