Robert LloydCHIEF OF POLICE
Chief Robert Lloyd began his career with the Avalon Police Department as a Class II summer officer. He would join the Wildwood Crest Police Department in 2003 and was hired full-time in August of 2004. Chief Lloyd served in many capacities during his time in the department including various roles in the Patrol Division and Detective Division, including Bicycle Patrol Officer, Detective, Corporal and Sergeant. Chief Lloyd rose through the ranks and also held the titles of Lieutenant and Captain before being named the Wildwood Crest Police Department's thirteenth Chief of Police in November of 2020.
Chief Lloyd also served with the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team for many years and is also a Police Training Commission certified Instructor at the Cape May County Police Academy where he teaches Physical Fitness, Firearms, and Survival Training.
Chief Lloyd is a graduate of the Mid Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar and also a graduate of the 277th Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. Chief Lloyd currently serves as the President of the Cape May County Chiefs of Police Association and is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.
