Cape May County Police Academy
The Cape May County Police Academy offers over 3200 hours of basic and advanced police training courses each year, training approximately 1500 police officers. low cost housing, reasonable tuition rates and a variety of courses make the Academy very attractive to police agencies.
The Academy is proud to be one of 27 Export Training Sites in the United States for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center located in Glynco, Georgia. This agreement with FLETC allows the Cape May County Police Academy to provide the latest in law enforcement education at no cost to agencies that participate.
Interested in becoming a Full-Time Officer with the Wildwood Crest Police Department? Wildwood Crest is a Civil Service Police Department. All of our hires have to pass the New Jersey Law Enforcement Exam to become a Full-Time Police Officer. Currently, exam applications are being accepted between the following dates:
Start- July 1st, 2019 End- August 31st, 2019

All persons applying for the position of Police Officer must:
- Be 18 years of age or older. ( Please visit the Civil Service website above for age requirements for exams)
- Possess a high-school diploma or equivalent.
- Complete a thorough background investigation.
- Pass a psychological evaluation.
