Wildwood Crest Police Department Internal Affairs Investigators are responsible for all investigations involving allegations of misconduct by police officers in Wildwood Crest. This includes, but is not limited to, allegations of excessive force, corruption, racial profiling, selective enforcement, mistreatment of prisoners, evidence tampering, and other forms of Official Misconduct. Investigations are initiated on direct complaints of private citizens, anonymous complaints, and complaints by police officers against other police officers. The Wildwood Crest Police Department Internal Affairs Division will also initiate investigations when necessary.
The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Professional Standards Unit supplies legal assistance and guidance to municipal and county law enforcement agencies in their individual internal affairs administrative investigations when needed and will also conduct criminal reviews of complaints filed against municipal police officers.
