The Wildwood Crest Police Department has had a long standing program that offers some peace of mind for our senior residents and their loved ones. In partnership with the Cape May County Communications Center, a call is placed to the senior resident each day at a specified time to check in and make sure all is well with them. This offers our senior residents an opportunity to express any concerns they may have, request assistance if needed, and share a brief hello with a member of the public safety community.
In the event that the senior resident is unable to be reached by phone, a member of the police department is dispatched to their home for a welfare check and an emergency contact on file with the police department is notified as well.
The department has seen great success with this program throughout the years and prevented what could have been some serious emergencies with just one simple phone call. Our senior residents have also said that they look forward to the daily call and appreciate the assistance offered by the police department.
